COURSE DESCRIPTION

:

This course covers an overview to fire prevention, fire detection and fire extinction; personal survival techniques; elementary first aid and personal safety and social responsibilities which prepares the student to their future basic training.

         The general program educational objective is to produce competent merchant marine officers and qualified to pursue professional career or advanced studies in related maritime field of specialization:

        a) Produce competent merchant marine engineering officers on seagoing ships of 750kW propulsion power or more and qualified to pursue a professional career or advanced studies in related maritime field of specialization

 

The BSMarE program graduates are expected to:
