This course deals with the concept and principles, theories and techniques in the care of population groups and community utilizing community organizing strategies towards health promotion, disease prevention, restoration, maintenance and rehabilitation and community development. The learners are expected to provide safe, appropriate and holistic nursing care to the clients utilizing the community health nursing process.

Course Outcomes :
After successful completion of CHNN 312, students already have:
- Practice knowledge of physical, social, natural, and health sciences and humanities in the population groups and communities.
- Demonstrate community nursing process in the performance of safe, appropriate, humanistic and holistic care to population groups and communities
- Demonstrate appropriate evidence-based community health care nursing care using a participatory approach.
- Practice nursing care in accordance with existing legal, ethical and moral principles in the delivery of care to population groups and communities.
- Demonstrate effective communication in utilizing culturally- appropriate language with the population groups and communities
- Demonstrate completeness, integrity, safety, accessibility and security of information
- Demonstrate collaboration with government organizations and non government organizations and other socio-civic agencies in the delivery of health programs to population groups and community
- Demonstrate beginning management and leadership skills in the delivery of client care/ health programs.
- Practice a community-based research with an experienced researcher
- Demonstrate lifelong learning with a passion to keep current with national and global development in the care of population group and communities.
- Demonstrate advocacy for responsible citizenship and pride of being a Filipino nurse in the community
- Practice techno-intelligent care systems and processes in health care delivery to population groups and communities
- Demonstrate nursing core values in the delivery of the health care to population groups and communities.
- Practice opportunities for entrepreneurial nursing practice in the community.
